DESCRIPTION

Labforge Snow Flea™ is a ground-based tactical electronic warfare and surveillance system designed to protect Canada’s critical Arctic assets against modern, asymmetric threats. Deployed as either compact Micro Pods or long-range Towers, Snow Flea operates off-grid using a novel hybrid power system that combines solar panels, vertical axis wind turbines, and super capacitors specifically engineered for extreme cold.

Snow Flea integrates a multi-modal sensor suite including HDR EO/IR cameras, configurable long-range radar, military-grade seismic arrays, acoustic sensors, and SDRs for EW. At the core of the system is a distributed AI architecture. Specialized AI models on each node and the Command Centers work together to provide comprehensive situational awareness and generate actionable intelligence.

The system’s electronic attack capabilities include jamming, GPS spoofing, and AI-driven voice interjection into hostile radio communications. All intelligence and target data are seamlessly integrated into TAK to provide a common operating picture. By fusing multi-domain sensing with autonomous AI, Snow Flea offers a resilient and scalable solution for asset protection.

Snow Flea units come in two scalable configurations: Micro Pods and Towers.

Each Snow Flea Tower or Micro Pod captures and processes data at the edge using specialized state-of-the-art AI engines. Pre-processed data are sent to a distributed network of Command Centers for further processing, analysis and decision making.

Key features include:

  • Full-spectrum situational awareness via fusion of visual, radar, thermal, seismic, and RF data.
  • Edge AI, LLM, and multi-target tracking integration for real-time reporting, target correlation, and threat classification.
  • Autonomous countermeasures including GPS spoofing, radio jamming, and signal deception.
  • Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) designed with cryogenic rated components, solar panels, and super capacitors for sustained off-grid operation.
  • Secure and redundant mesh communications via MANET, SATCOM, LoRaWAN, and Wi-Fi 6E.
  • Real-time Common Operating Picture across thousands of Snow Flea units displayed over interoperable interfaces like TAK.

AI-Based Situational Awareness

A Snow Flea Command Center gathers incident reports from connected Snow Flea units. It uses an AI model to analyze the data and provide general situational awareness for the monitored area.  The AI acts like a common brain to all the Snow Fleas.

INTER-OPERABILITY

Snow Flea integrates with the Tactical Assault Kit (TAK). TAK is designed for mobile devices but can also run on laptops and desktop computers.
