Labforge designs and builds perception systems that fuse imaging, radar, depth, acoustic, seismic, and RF sensing into unified situational awareness for industrial and defence use cases.
We started in 2013 with a leading team of software and hardware engineers from the University of Waterloo. We have a history of strong affiliations with the University, including joint projects.

Office Manager
The Role
We’re looking for a driven, enthusiastic individual to join our growing team. As Office Manager, you will be responsible for keeping our workspace and our people running at peak performance. You will lead both the physical and digital office experience, from welcoming new hires to organizing company-wide events.
Key Responsibilities
- Office Management
- Lead the end-to-end employee lifecycle by setting up new hires with necessary hardware, email access, and orientation, while professionally managing the exit process.
- Drive team morale by organizing dinners, celebrating milestones, and proactively maintaining a healthy, high-energy office “vibe.”
- Oversee daily operations to ensure the lab and office environments are organized, safe, fully stocked, and optimized for productivity.
- Event & Logistics Management
- Coordinate logistics for domestic and international trade shows, including booth procurement, attendee registrations, and travel management.
- Manage shipping schedules and documentation for display equipment to ensure on-time delivery for event setups.
- Serve as the lead planner for on-site visits, overseeing catering, and local transportation.
- Maintain the master calendar for events, speaking engagements, and marketing milestones to ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Content & Digital Presence
- Create, schedule, and post engaging content across social media: LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Script, film, and edit marketing contents.
- Perform regular updates to website copy, blog posts, and event pages to reflect the latest company news and product launches.
- Translate complex technology into digestible, visual stories that resonate with engineers and customers.
Qualifications
- Organizational Ninja with an exceptional multi-tasking skills.
- A willingness to jump from a high-level HR conversation to fixing the office printer or restocking the fridge.
- Proficiency with mobile video editing apps or desktop suites and a “good eye” for framing and lighting.
- Clear, empathetic, and professional verbal and written skills.
- Familiarity with WordPress and web/social media analytics tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Curiosity: Show an interest in what the company is actually building.
- On-Camera Confidence: Comfortable being the “face” or “voice” of the company for short-form video content.
- Creative Problem Solving: The ability to find a local caterer at 6:00 AM or fix a broken website link under pressure.
Field Electrician
The Role
As a Field Electrician, you will be in charge of installing sensors. You will work with the engineering team during iterative testing and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Power System Installation: Size, select, and deploy off-grid solar arrays, wind-turbines and battery storage systems.
- Analyze sensor pack power draws to ensure they fall into the power budget accounts.
- Install robust grounding solutions for power systems to protect them and sensitive electronics from surges.
- Fabricate and install custom wire harnesses, above- and underground conduit.
- Fabricate and install electrical enclosures and panel boxes.
- Site preparation: excavating, foundation work to prepare for the installation
- Conduct power quality testing and thermal validation to ensure the system meets reliability and wiring standards.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AC/DC system installation, solar charge controllers, and battery management systems with 120VAC backup.
- Knowledge of lightning protection standards specifically for steel structures and towers.
- Experience with electrical schematic tools
- Cable design, connector selection, and harness assembly
- Foundation laying for outdoor energy harvesting systems
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in solar panel, generator, electrical installations
- Ability to prototype harnesses, and use diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes and thermal cameras
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized photovoltaic (PV) and wind turbine-based system designs for off-grid applications.
- Jack-of-all-Trades Mentality: Transform a hole in the ground to the bolts in the base
